Not all Jello Shots are created equal, some, like the ones from our youth are tainted with the foolishness of college parties, and others, like a glamourous version of the Jello Jiggler can add a touch of playfulness to your next cocktail party. You can turn any cocktail into a Jello Jiggler, all you need is a little creativity and (gasp) a night to sample your favourites before you place them on your serving tray.
The trick with making a Cocktail Jiggler is knowing how strong you want them to be, the recipes below are for the bold and daring hostess, should you wish to serve a lighter version, simply replace the liquor with water or a mixer of your choice.
Strawberry Daiquiri Jiggler
Ingredients
- 1 packet of strawberry gelatine
- 2/3 cup of boiling water
- 1/3 cup of Rum
Directions In a large mixing bowl, add the boiling water and the gelatine, stirring until the mixture is fully dissolved. Then add the Rum and continue stirring before placing into a shallow pan for cooling. Refrigerate for 4 hours and then cut into pieces, garnish with orange zest and coconut before serving.
Margarita Jiggler
Ingredients
- 1 package of lime gelatine
- 1/3 cup of boiling water
- 3 tablespoons of Triple Sec
- 2 table spoons of Margarita Mixer
- 1/3 cup of Tequila
Directions In a large mixing bowl, add the boiling water and the gelatine, stirring until the mixture is fully dissolved. Then add the Tequila, Triple Sec and Margarita Mixer, and continue stirring before placing into a shallow pan for cooling. Refrigerate for 4 hours and then cut into pieces, garnish with lime zest & rock salt before serving.
